What is the WGC Returns Policy? 

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase from www.welshgoldcompany.com you are welcome to return the goods within 14 days of their receipt (provided that they have not been worn or used) You may then get a full refund, or an exchange if this is what you would like.

When you return the goods the product/s must be in its original packing and in unused condition. You must also include any gift box, and where applicable, the certification (for example with our diamond products).
Before returning goods for any reason, please inform www.welshgoldcompany.com by telephone or in writing.
We recommend that when you return goods to us you use Royal Mail Special Delivery. This is because they offer "Proof of delivery" with the service, and the goods are insured whilst in transit.
Earrings may be returned as long as the sealed packaging has not been opened. This is because of "Health & Safety" regulations. This does not affect goods that are being returned because they are faulty.
Custom made products cannot be returned. As they are one off commissions they are not re sellable.

Can I Purchase a single earring on the website? 

As we manufacture all our items we are more than happy to provide you with a single earring. You will need to request a price via our contact us page listing the design code and colour / metal combination you require. Alternatively, call us on: 08452 710 541.


Are WGC products conflict free? 

The Welsh Gold Company guarantees that the diamonds used in all WGC jewellery are purchased from legitimate conflict free sources, in compliance with the Kimberley Process and associated United Nations resolutions.

WGC supports the Kimberley Process Initiative to eliminate conflict diamonds from world trade; further details on the Initiative can be found at www.kimberleyprocess.com, and www.diamondfacts.org.


How should I care for my WGC Jewellery? 

Careful handling of your WGC product will be rewarded with many years of enjoyment. Finger marks and the dulling caused by day-to-day wear can be removed by lightly polishing with a microfibre cloth.

Other simple guidelines include:

 

  • Do not spray perfume or other solvents on to jewellery.

  • Always store your jewellery carefully after wearing.

  • Do not use harsh cleaning solutions.

  • Sandblasted finishes can be cleaned with a soft eraser.

  • Do not wear whilst swimming.

For more persistent marks, wash your jewellery in warm soapy water and then thoroughly rinse in clean running water. Dry with a lint free cloth or hair dryer and then lightly polish with a micro fibre cloth.

 

I have had a reaction to my jewellery.

WGC jewellery is made to the appropriate EU standards and should not cause a reaction. Some people have particular sensitivities to gold and silver and if this is the case you may find that WGC jewellery also causes a reaction. Sometimes a reaction can happen if your jewellery is too tight. Also, if air cannot circulate around the item and onto your skin, a red sore spot can appear. This is not a reaction to the jewellery and is caused by your jewellery being too tight.

If your jewellery is too tight you can experience a build-up of soap, washing up liquid etc. underneath the item that isn’t being rinsed away by hand washing and this can also cause a reaction. This is quite common with wedding rings that are never taken off.

My piece of jewellery is discoloured

Discolouring of gold or silver jewellery usually occurs when the metal has been exposed to a chemical. For example, swimming in a pool will cause silver to discolour due to the chlorine content in the water. Even being in the same room as a swimming pool can cause tarnishing. Generally as a rule if you can smell chlorine your silver jewellery is already being affected.

Silver is particularly affected by sulphides. When a car or lawn mower burns gasoline, or an electric plant burns coal, it generates air pollution such as sulphur dioxide. This goes into the air and circulates everywhere. As soon as you notice your silver jewellery tarnishing it should be cleaned using a silver cleaning solution. If left, the tarnish can penetrate the jewellery so deeply that it is permanently damaged.
